I’ve heard this sentiment across our city. We all see the potential, but we also feel the frustration. Like we’re stuck in mud.

My platform is a blueprint for action. A blueprint to help Peterborough move from "What if we could?" to "Together, we will."

Here’s my platform to unlock Peterborough's full potential.

Economic Growth Is Our Engine

Together, we will attract new industry and high-paying jobs to secure long-term local prosperity.

"We cannot tax our way to prosperity. We have to grow our way there."

"If you want to bring good-paying jobs to Peterborough, we have to roll out the red carpet, not the red tape."

"Economic development. That’s how you make a Peterborough that works for everyone."

  • We will remove every reasonable barrier to bring good-paying jobs to Peterborough.
  • We will work collaboratively with the County to attract new businesses to the area.
  • We will use new assessment to invest in the services residents need.
  • We will pursue public/private partnerships to make investments in new economic infrastructure.

Downtown Is Our Heart

Together, we will foster a vibrant, safe city core for more people to live, work, and enjoy.

"I believe our downtown should be a destination – filled with art, music, food, and life."

"We need City Hall to prioritize our downtown – because downtown is everyone’s neighbourhood."

  • We will ensure that the downtown is safe, welcoming and accessible to everyone.
  • We will ensure small businesses that invest in our downtown know that the City has their back.
  • We will encourage the use of downtown for cultural, recreational, sports, and other activities – for both residents and visitors.
  • We will enhance the state of downtown through consistent enforcement of the property standards by-law, enhanced daily maintenance of public spaces, and frequent police, outreach and ambassador patrols.

Affordability Is Our North Star

Together, we will treat tax dollars with care and ensure municipal spending delivers measurable results.

  • We will endeavour to keep property tax increases capped at the rate of inflation.
  • We will ensure that taxpayers receive good value from every dollar the city spends.
  • We will ensure spending is guided by transparent priorities and community needs.
  • We will engage all taxpayers in the municipal budgeting process.

Arts & Culture Are Our Soul

Together, we will invest in the creative sectors that drive both economic vitality and community identity.

"I believe we should treat artists and creators not as charities to be cut – but as the economic and cultural drivers they are."

  • We will market our arts & culture industry as a key part of our tourism economy.
  • We will partner with local organizations that promote arts, culture and entertainment.
  • We will enhance community grants for organizations that agree to participate in shared-services agreements.

Housing Is Our Foundation

Together, we will move from planning to building by championing the missing middle and the responsible density our city needs.

  • We will allow people to make delegations to council in person and electronically, ensuring all Peterborough residents have access to council.
  • We will work with council, staff and residents to develop a strategic list of key priorities for the new council plan.

Together, we will ensure our city remains a compassionate and inclusive community where everyone can thrive and no one is left behind.
